the rumors are true
What you've read on Facebook -- including the Q.R. Code posted by my co-teacher, Dave Stafford (and re-posted by me, to to allay any fears that it might be a scam), are true:
I did lose my home to a fire on Wednesday evening, and I was (self)-admitted to the E.R. on Friday, followed up by an ambulance ride back there an hour later, due to complications from the catheter inserted into my urethra.
As I type this Sunday afternoon, at 1:48 p.m., I am once again in the E.R., but will likely be released soon.
I'm back in the E.R. because the doctor who treated me Friday night said if I had any dizzy spells or vertigo, shortness of breath, rapid heartbeat, to come back and get checked out.
All of that happened at church this morning, so I drove myself back to the E.R., followed by a woman from church, (thank you, Tina Carpenter), just in case.
In all likelihood, I was just dehydrated at church and my blood-sugar was probably low, as I hadn't been eating much since the fire on Wednesday evening. I ate a chocolate doughnut, drank some water at church, and then peeled and ate an orange I had in the car, on the drive to Grossmont Hospital.
Derek is on his way, but I may get released before he gets here, unless they decide to run more tests and keep me overnight.
If the Holy Spirit leads you, feel free to use the attached Q.R. Code to donate to my recovery and living expenses, which may take the better part of the rest if this year.
Thank you for all the prayers and gifts.

Someone at church suggested adding it, if they're uncomfortable using Zelle, so, click the following link to donate with Venmo. My username is @Jay-Wing.
And, as always, thank you for blessing me during this stressful season.
Jay
